Long Dinh 1 Parish under My Tho diocese located in Long Dinh commune, Chau Doc district, Tien Giang province held the stone-laying ceremony for rebuilding its church on July 27.
The solem ceremony saw the participation of Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho, 30 priests in the diocese, and large numbers of clergymen, clergywomen and parishioners.

As reported at the event, the Long Dinh 1 parish church was built in 1954 and has been repaired four times ever since. In 2018, the parish was approved by local authorities for rebuilding its original church on an area of 596 square meters.
The new church is expected to be completed in 2020.
