In the framework of the Scientific Workshop at the level of the Ministry of Defence " Road 9 - Southern Laos Victory 1971, historical and real value", the delegate of the Steering Committee for the workshop offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery, in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province, on March 18.
The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyễn Tân Cương, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Steering Committee for the workshop; Lt. Gen. Nguyễn Doãn Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of Military Region 4; Major General Nguyễn Hoàng Nhiên, Director of the Vietnam Military History Institute; leaders and former leaders of departments, ministries and branches at the central and Quang Tri province; and generals who participated in the Road 9 - Southern Laos campaign.
On the afternoon of the same day, the Steering Committee for the workshop visited and presented gifts to ten families with relatives who had participated in the Road 9 - Southern Laos campaign.

Lieutenant General Nguyễn Tân Cương visited, encouraged, and reviewed the heroic memories of the victory of Road 9 - Southern Laos campaign, expressing deep gratitude for the sacrifices of previous generations for the homeland.
According to the plan, the workshop co-organized by the Ministry of Defence and Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee will take place on March 19 in Dong Ha City, on the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Road 9 - Southern Laos campaign (March 23, 1971 to March 23, 2021).
