The Labor Confederation in Quang Tri province’s Trieu Phong district started the construction of a monument at Doc Bom historical site at the ground-breaking ceremony held on July 17.
Doc Bom historical site is the place where the first battle against American soldiers in Quang Trị province took place in 1972.
The construction taking place on the occasion of the 72nd Anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) and the 90th Anniversary of Vietnam Trade Union Establishment (July 28) aimed to honor contributions of soldiers and locals in protecting and defending the country.
The total investment of the construction is 120 VND million, contributed by local workers and labors in Trieu Phong district.
