Thousands of pilgrims across the country flocked to the opening ceremony of the La Vang Pilgrimage festival 2015 held on August 14 at La Vang Church in Quang Tri province.
The event was presided by Bishop Vice Chairman of Vietnam Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese Francis Xavier Lê Văn Hồng, and attended by Bishop Thomas Vũ Đình Hiệu, Chairman of the Commission for Social Fraternity and more than 150 priests in the locality.
At the ceremony, priest James Lê Sĩ Hiền, Superintendent of La Vang Pilgrim Centre thanked central authorities and Quang Tri provincial authorities for creating favorable conditions for the event.
On this occasion, representatives of Catholic Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) attended and presented GCRA’s gifts and best wishes to local Catholic dignitaries and followers.
