On Nov. 14, the Social-Medical Committee under the Vietnam (South) Evangelical Church (ECVN) (South) in collaboration with the Protestant Social-Medical Board in Quang Nam province conducted a medical charity program in Quang Ngai province’s Tra Bong district.
The medical charity program included free health checks, free distribution of medicines and presenting gifts to 300 people, and free provision of medical glasses to 60 old people in Tra Bong district’s Tra Son commune.
Attending the program included Commissioned Pastor Chairman of the Protestant Social-Medical Board in Quang Nam province Ông Văn Tín and local authorities’ representatives. During the charity program, many local officials and Protestant followers also took part in the organizing work or joint the program as volunteers.
Tra Son commune is home to many poor households of Kor ethnic group, so local people do not have much opportunities to go for health checks.
On behalf of Tra Son commune’s authorities, Head of the commune’s clinic expressed thanks to the Protestant social-medical delegation for conducting the medical charities in the locality.
For many local Protestant followers, this is an opportunity to be of service to their fellows in the commune, as well as to present and show themselves as Christians in the locality.
