The first Congress of Catholics for national construction and defense in Quang Binh province for 2014-2019 period was held in Dong Hoi city on December 15.
Attending the Congress were representatives from the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Vietnam Committee for Catholic Solidarity and local authorities, and delegates representing priests, pastoral councils and Catholics in the locality.
The Congress nominated 30 members to the provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee and elected 5 members to Committee Standing Board (01 president, 02 vice presidents and 2 Standing members), in which priest Nguyễn Bình Yên of Minh Cam parish in Mai Hoa commune of Tuyen Hoa district was appointed as Chairman of Quang Binh Catholic Solidarity Committee for 2014-2019 period.
