Pure-land Buddhist chapter in Tien Giang province reviews activities 2018

The annual meeting for reviewing activities 2018 and outlining working plans of Hung Hoa temple chapter under the Vietnam Pure-Land Buddhist Association in Tien Giang province was held on January 6.

The meeting saw the participation of Reverend Vice President of the pure-land Buddhist association in Tien Giang province Trần Công Chức, Vice Chairman of Hung Hoa temple’s executive board Nguyễn Văn Hùng, representatives from nine chapters of the Buddhist association in the province and members of Hung Hoa temple chapter.

Guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial religious committee Trần Văn Khuê and representatives from Chau Thanh district authority.

As reviewed at the meeting, in 2018, Hung Hoa temple organized 24 religious preaching meetings with the participation of 840 followers, registered 13 new converts and upgraded supporting facilities of its headquarters.

The chapter has provided free health examination for seven thousand locals and 43 thousand packets of traditional medicine and acupuncture for over five thousand patients, and presented charitable houses and supports to disadvantaged people, etc with the total contributing value of 780 million VND.

On the occasion, the pure-land Buddhist association’ executive committee in the province presented certificates of commendation to two groups and five individuals for their outstanding contributions to Hung Hoa temple.
