The Charity Board under the Pure-Land Buddhist Association in An Giang province held the annual meeting 2017 on March 5.
Attending the meeting included members of the provincial Executive Board of the Pure-Land Buddhist Association, representatives from local authorities and nearly 100 delegates representing the Buddhist association’s five chapters in the locality.
As reported at the meeting, during the year 2016, the charity board contributed over VND 4 billion to activities of medical charities, including medical examinations for over 96,000 patients with approximately 300,000 packs of traditional medicines and over 62,000 kg medicines and semi-processed medicines provided to charity clinics.
At the meeting, participants also exchanged on President Ho Chi Minh's letter sent to the healthcare sector on occasion of the Vietnam Physician Day (February 27) as well as the biography and lifetime of Supreme Patriarch Lê Hữu Trác.
On this occasion, the provincial Executive Board of the Buddhist Association presented a certificate of merit to Hung Thanh chapter in Tri Ton district for practical contributions in charitiable activities./.
