Provincial authorities, religious organizations in Ninh Thuan strengthen cooperation on environmental protection and climate change adaptation

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee in Ninh Thuan province, the provincial Nature Resources and Environment Department and religious organizations in the province signed on February 9 a coordination program promoting religions’ role in the environmental protection and climate change adaptation in the 2023-2026 period.

The event was co-chaired by Chairman of the provincial VFF Lê Văn Bình and Director of the provincial Nature Resources and Environment Department Hồ Xuân Ninh, and joint by representatives of local authorities and eight religions in the province.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Lê Văn Bình spoke highly of initial results of the coordination program signed in 2016 by the provincial VFF, the provincial nature resources and environment department and religious organizations on environmental protection.

The chairman also expressed hope that dignitaries of religious organizations would continue promoting the collaboration between religious organizations and provincial authorities in motivating lay religious followers and other local people to proactively engage in environmental protection in the coming time.
