Promoting solidarity, social participation of religious youths

President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trần Thanh Mẫn led a delegation at a meeting with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for promoting solidarity and social engagement of religious youth.

Attending the event included Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Lê Quốc Phong, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyễn Viết Tiến, representatives from the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.

The meeting stressed the need to raise awareness on State’s policies and laws on belief and religion to youth union’s religious members as well as encouraged them to actively participate in movements launched by the VFF.

Speaking at the event, President Trần Thanh Mẫn spoke highly of the collaboration of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the campaigns and movements launched by the VFF. He also urged the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to foster professional training for the youth union’s members including religious youth at grassroots levels.

According to Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyễn Phi Long, religious youth currently number 4.2 million, accounting for 17.18% of Vietnamese youth or 4.98% the country population.
