The meeting provided journalists and reporters with brief information on the outcome of the Universal Periodic Review of Vietnam and the UN’s session in protecting and promoting civil and political rights (ICCPR), highlighting the acknowledgement and high appreciation of Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in the protection of human rights by many countries.

As reported at the meeting, the press has been asked to strengthen the communication on sessions of the UPR, dialogues with the committees against torture and human rights, and the safeguarding of human rights, including the freedom of religion, expression, association, etc. 

The ministry of information and communication has maintained a monthly press meeting for regularly providing updated information and exchanges of opinions on issues related to human right and democracy.
