Lao Cai provincial People’s Committee held on April 28 a meeting to mark the 75th traditional day of the State administration on ethnic affairs and praise outstanding people amongst ethnic minorities for the 2018-2021 period.
The event saw the presence of Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister, Chairman of Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs Hầu A Lềnh, Secretary of the province Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Đặng Xuân Phong, representatives from concerning provincial departments and district authorities, and 150 representatives of ethnic communities in the province.
As reported, Lao Cai province is home to 25 ethnic groups, accounting for 62% the provincial population.

On the occasion, 28 outstanding ethnic elites have been awarded with certificates of recommendation by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee. Local authorities also presented gifts to 30 prestigious ethnic people in the province.
