The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) held on October 8 a press briefing on the 7th national congress for the 2018-2023 tenure.
Attending the event were Priest Acting Chairman and Secretary General of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh, Head of the religious affairs department under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyễn Văn Thanh, and representatives from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and journalists of the press agencies.
As announced at the event, the 7th national congress will take place on October 12-13 in Hanoi with the theme “Companion – Communion –Serving” and the participation of over 400 delegates who are priests, clergies and typical Catholics across the country.
The congress will review results of the patriotic movement and the solidarity committee’s activities over the last five years and approve working plans for the 2018-2023 tenure as well as elect the new-term executive committee of the CSVC.
The executive board of the CSCV has been established in 42 provinces and cities.
