President of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam calls for supports to Ho Chi Minh City

Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam sent on July 9 a message to cardinals, bishops, priests, and lay Catholics calling for their supports extended to people in Ho Chi Minh city.

In the message, Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh shared that the social distancing imposed in the city from 0:00 on July 9, 2021 was necessary for preventing and controlling the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic over the past days in the city.

In order to share with local people severely affected by the epidemic and the social distancing, Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh called on Catholic dioceses and Caritas at all levels to set up hotlines and places for gathering cash donation and necessities of vegetables, food, masks, antiseptic water, ventilators, oxygen machines, Covid-19 test kits, etc. in their location.

Cash donation and relief supplies would also be received at the Office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference located in No. 72/12 Tran Quoc Toan street of District 3’s Ward 8 for distributing to most affected areas in the city.
