President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc visits Vinh Nghiem pagoda

President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc paid a visit on October 12 to Vinh Nghiem pagoda located in Ho Chi Minh City’ Distrit 3 which has been operating one of charity kitchens in the city for offering free meals to the frontline medical force against Covid-19.  

Welcoming the president included Most Venerable Thích Đức Nghiệp, Vice Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Most Venerable Yoshimizu Daichi, Patron of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Japan, and Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Phong, Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee cum Head of VBS Social Charity Board in the city and Abbot of Vinh Nghiem pagoda.

During the visit, President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc highlighted practical contributions made by the pagoda in particular, and the VBS in general, to the Covid-19 prevention work in the city and country over the past months.

The president also extended best wishes and presented a portrait of President Hồ Chí Minh to Buddhist dignitaries, as well as planted a tree in the pagoda.
