Pope Francis expects to pay visit to Viet Nam soon

Trần welcomed Wachowski's working visit to Viet Nam to co-chair the 11th annual meeting of the Viet Nam–Holy See Joint Working Group with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lê Thị Thu Hằng.

Viet Nam consistently pursues the policy of respecting and ensuring freedom of belief and religion for all people, creating favorable conditions for the activities of all religions, including Catholicism, reiterated the Deputy PM.

He spoke highly of the Pope's teachings and messages encouraging the Vietnamese Catholic community to join hands and contribute to building and developing the country.

Tran expressed his delight at the outstanding achievements in the relationship between Viet Nam and the Holy See, especially the appointment of the Resident Papal Representative of the Holy See in Viet Nam.

The Deputy PM also hailed the role and contribution of the Holy See in addressing global issues such as peace promotion and reconciliation of conflicts for the happiness of people around the world.

He suggested both sides continue ennhancing delegation exchanges and contacts, and holding dialogues, especially upholding the role of the Viet Nam-Holy See Joint Working Group and the Resident Papal Representative of the Holy See in Viet Nam.

Miroslaw Wachowski, for his part, congratulated Viet Nam on its socio-economic development achievements and announced outcomes of the 11th annual meeting of the Viet Nam–Holy See Joint Working Group.

The activities of the Vietnamese Catholic Church in the spirit of Pope Francis' teachings show the good relationship between the Church and the State, he noted.

He underlined the need to increase high-ranking visits to promote mutual understandings and trust, adding that Pope Francis expects to pay a visit to Viet Nam soon./.
