Politburo member Trương Thị Mai extends Christmas greetings in Ho Chi Minh city, Dong Nai

Politburo member cum Chairwoman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Trương Thị Mai visited the office of Ho Chi Minh city Archdiocese and extended her Christmas greetings to Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng and Catholics in the Archdiocese on December 23.  

Accompanying the mass mobilization leader included Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Trương Thị Ngọc Ánh, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Đỗ Văn Phới and representative leaders of Ho Chi Minh city.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Politburo member Trương Thị Mai offered her best Christmas wishes to Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Năng, priests and Catholic parishioners in the Archdiocese.

She informed the archbishop of the national socio-economic situation and achievements in 2020 and highly appreciated practical contributions made by religious organizations, including Catholic community, in the Covid-19 prevention work and aids extended to people seriously affected by floods in the central region.

She urged the archbishop and Catholic followers in the archdiocese to strictly implement Covid-19 preventive measures during Christmas 2020.

On the occasion, Chairwoman Trương Thị Mai also visited Cardinal Jean-Baptiste Phạm Minh Mẫn, former Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh city Archdiocese at St’s Joseph Major Seminary.

On the same day, the mass mobilization delegation visited the office of Xuan Loc diocese in Dong Nai province and extended merry Christmas to Bishop Joseph Đinh Đức Đạo and parishioners in the diocese.
