PM Phạm Minh Chính receives VBS leaders

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính hosted on November 29 a reception for a visiting delegation from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) after the success of the 9th National VBS (the 2022-2027 tenure).

At the reception

Joining the reception included Minister of the Home Affairs Phạm Thị Thanh Trà, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Ngô Sách Thực, and Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Hoài Bắc.

The 38-member Buddhist delegation led by Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng New VBS Patriarch and Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, President of the VBS’s Executive Council.

During the visiting reception, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn informed results of the 9th National Buddhist Congress. He also took the chance to thank the Vietnam Party, State and the inter-ministerial working group for guiding the VBS in organizing its congress.

While congratulating successes of the Buddhist congress, PM Phạm Minh Chính highlighted Buddhism’s great contributions to the cause of national construction and defense.

The PM expressed hope that under the leadership of the new Patriarch, the VBS would have a new term with many successes under the direction "Discipline - Responsibility - Solidarity - Development" launched by the 9th National Buddhist Congress. He asked the VBS to continue encouraging monks, nuns and lay followers to well implement the Party’s and the State’s policies and law, and taking the lead in building the great national unity bloc and religious solidarity, while upholding fine traditions of Buddhism in Vietnam.
