General Secretary of Vietnamese Communist Party - State President Nguyễn Phú Trọng has sent a wreath for paying his respects to Most Venerable Thích Hiển Pháp, Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, who passed away four days ago.
The wreath was bought in and laid by Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng on November 19.

On the same day, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng also laid a wreath sent by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyễn Trọng Thừa for expressing his homage to the Buddhist leader
Most Venerable Thích Hiển Pháp has served as a deputy of Vietnam’s National Assembly at the 6th and 9th legislatures. The Buddhist leader has also been awarded with many Party and State honours for his service during the war for the national unification.
The senior Buddhist monk died in Hung Phuoc Pagoda located in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 3 at the age of 86 on November 16 after a long illness.
