The 3rd Nghe Tinh ordination conference for 23 Buddhists from provinces of Ha Tinh and Nghe An was started on May 31 at Thanh Luong Pagoda in Ha Tinh province’s Nghi Xuan district.
The ongoing event was co-organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter of provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh, and presided over by Senior Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Ha Tinh province Thích Chiếu Tuệ and Senior Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Nghe An province Thích Thọ Lạc.
The ordination conference lasts four days, from May 31 to June 3, under the patronage of Most Venerable Vice President of the Central VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thanh Đàm and Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Bảo Nghiêm.
Nghe Tinh ordination conference is held every two years. During the four-day event this year, the participating Buddhists will complete three tests of multiple-choice, essay and meditation formalities.
