Nguyen Xi temple in Nghi Loc district in the central province of Nghe An opened its annual festival 2015 at a ceremony held on March 19.
Nguyen Xi temple is a worshipping place for the royal highest mandarin Nguyen Xi, who was borne in 1379 under the later Le dynasty, and a famous general in the national resistance against Chinese Minh domination.
This is one of biggest traditional festivals in Nghe An province and annual held on the last day of the first lunar month and the first day of the second lunar month. The festival this year fell on March 19 and 20, with a wide range of ceremonial rituals and activities, including the opening ceremony, palanquin procession, art performances, volley ball, tug of war and other traditional games.
