New Protestant church in Ben Tre inaugurated

Tam Hiep Protestant Church under the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) in Ben Tre province’s Binh Dai district held a ceremony on October 20 for inauguration and consecration of its church.

The event saw the participation of Pastor General Secretary of the ECVN (South) Phan Quang Thiệu, pastors from the ECVN’s Executive Committee and the Protestant Representative Committee in Ben Tre province, and large numbers of Protestant dignitaries, deacons and followers.

Local guests at the ceremony included representatives of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Tam Hiep Protestant Church was officially recognized in 2010 and its original church was built by temporary materials. In 2014, the Church kicked off the construction of its new church on an area of 1,370 m2, including 183.3m2 of worshipping building and 252.4m2 of residential and supporting facilities.

The new church was completed after two years of construction, at the cost of nearly VND 3 billion.
