The authorities of Hanoi city’s Quoc Oai district is rapidly taking steps for a Thầy Pagoda relic site development project, according to information provided to the press on March 29.
The new development project proposed for Thầy (Master) Pagoda special national relic and the Sai Son mountain nearby covers 100 ha, with 33.34 ha for the interior area, with the aim to preserve the national relic site as well as promote tourism, boosting socio-economic development in the locality.
As part of the project, relocation of 47 families is recommended and the district authorities are taking steps to seek support from and prepare new location for these families. In addition, a new, 42m-wide road connecting Thang Long Highway and Thầy Pagoda is proposed as a solution to the current traffic problem relating the pagoda festival.
Thầy Pagoda was recognized as a special national relic site in 2014, and its festival is held annually from the 5th to the 7th of the third lunar month.
