New Catholic church in Hoa Binh province kicked off

Muong Cat Catholic parish in Huong Nghia commune of Hoa Binh province’s Lac Son district held on November 22 a brick-laying ceremony for the construction of its new church.  

The event was presided and attended by Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên, Priest Joseph Nguyễn Văn Thoan, Head of My Duc – Hoa Binh deanery, Priest Joseph Bùi Văn Cường, Head of Muong Cat parish, and priests, clergies and Muong Cat parishioners.

During at the ceremony, Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên shared meanings of the stone-laying ceremony and performed religious rites.

Muong Cat Catholic parish is currently under My Duc – Hoa Binh deanery of Ha Noi Archdiocese and its church has been degraded after over 100 years of existence. The parish officially received the construction permit of new church on May 6.
