A bridge in Phu Loi commune in Hau Giang province’s Chau Thanh district built with supports of Buddhist followers was formally inaugurated at a ceremony held on February 16.
As reported, the new bridge is the 26th bridge of a bridge building program initiated by Senior Venerable Thích Minh Hạnh, Abbot of Thien Thoi Pagoda in Soc Trang province’s Ke Sach district.
The new concrete bridge has 30 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, with a total investment of 200 million VND. Senior Venerable Thích Minh Hạnh himself designed this bridge and supervised its construction. The bridge construction was financed by a Buddhist family from Ho Chi Minh city; a charity group from Thien Thoi pagoda and residents in Phu Loi village implemented the construction work.
On the same day in Soc Trang, Senior Venerable Thích Minh Hạnh also handed over 300 gift sets with a total value of 60 million VND to disadvantaged families in Thoi An Hoi commune, Soc Trang province’s Ke Sach district.
