New Bishop of Hai Phong diocese takes office

New Bishop of Hai Phong diocese Vincent Nguyễn Văn Bản formally took office at a mass held on March 31.

The event saw the presence of bishops of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam (CBCV), a large number of Catholics of Hai Phong and other dioceses.

Local guests at the event included Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in Hai Phong city Dương Ngọc Anh, Senior Venerable Thích Tụng Minh, Chief of the Office  Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Chapter in the city, Pastor Hoàng Văn Huy, Head of evangelical chapter in the city, and Priest Thượng Phong Thanh, Head of Hai Phong Caodai parish.

As reported, Pope Francis appointed on March 19 Bishop of Ban Me Thuot diocese Vincent Nguyễn Văn Bản as the new Bishop of Hai Phong diocese cum the Apostolic Administrator of Ban Me Thuot diocese.

On this occasion, New Bishop Vincent Nguyễn Văn Bản took the chance to thank Pope Francis, Bishops of dioceses, local authorities, and Catholic followers of Hai Phong diocese and other dioceses for their supports.
