Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng has handed over a decision approving the establishment of the Vietnam Baptist Theological Seminary to the Vietnam Baptist Church at a ceremony held on December 27 in Ho Chi Minh city.
The ceremony saw the presence of Head of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Division Thiều Thị Hương and Pastor President of the Vietnam Baptist Church Nguyễn Ân Điển.
The Vietnam Baptist Theological Seminary with the headquarters located in the city’s Phu Nhuan district aims to better provide Christian education for members of the Baptist church. The theological seminary offers theological and pastoral training programs in three training systems of intermediate, college and bachelor of Theology, with two forms of formal and intensive education.

Speaking at the ceremony, while extending congratulations to Pastor Nguyễn Ân Điển and all followers of the Baptist church, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng also informed that the Vietnam Baptist Theological Seminary is the first training of the Vietnam Baptist Church and the third religious institution of Protestantism in the country.
On the occasion, Pastor Nguyễn Ân Điển handed over the decision appointing Pastor Lê Quốc Huy as the acting Director of the Vietnam Baptist Theological Seminary.
