Natural recourses and environment ministry holds meeting with concerning ministries, agencies on draft decree guiding Law on Environmental Protection 2020

The Ministry of Natural Recourses and Environment ministry held on October 28 a working meeting with concerning ministries and central agencies on the draft decree guiding Law on Environmental Protection 2020 that will take effect in 2022.  

The meeting aimed at clarifying responsibilities and roles of ministries and central agencies and avoiding overlapping in solving related environmental issues, as well as achieving consensus in the draft decree to be submitted to the Government.

According to the Environmental Administration, there’re 11 remaining issues relating the environment in the draft decree that needs to reach consensus between concerning ministries and central agencies, including practices of burial and cremation of the deceased.

During the event, the ministry of natural recourses and environment ministry and concerning ministries and central agencies have clarified and reached consensus in adding or deleting relating provisions, or putting forwards recommendations to the Government for consideration and making decisions on regulations.

Concluding the meeting, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Trần Hồng Hà requested to refer to specific laws for solving issues with differences remained, and asked concerning ministries and central agencies to undertake matters relating the environmental protection accordance with their due competence.
