Natural recourses and environment ministry holds meeting on Vietnam Environmental Prize 2021

Minister for Natural Resources and Environment Trần Hồng Hà and Deputy Minister Võ Tuấn Nhân chaired on October 26 a meeting with the Center for Communication on the natural resources and environment on the Vietnam Environmental Prize this year.
The Vietnam Environmental Prize is a noble award honoring individuals and organizations, irrespective of religion, for their outstanding contributions in the cause of the environmental protection in the country.
As reported at the meeting, by September 15, the Center for Communication on the natural resources and environment under the ministry of natural recourses and environment has received 210 entries from individuals (62), organizations (146) and communities (3) to the honorable environmental prize this year.
In the context of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the ministry of natural recourses and environment has also allowed an extended time for receiving further entries to Vietnam Environmental Prize 2021 in order to support those applications facing with administrative difficulties caused by the pandemic.
For the environmental prize to be granted to all individuals and organizations having made practical and outstanding contributions to the environmental protection from all localities, working fields, occupations and ages, Deputy Minister Võ Tuấn Nhân has asked the organization committee to minimize administrative procedures and expand criteria according to the Law on Environmental Protection passed in 2020.
Addressing the working meeting, Minister Trần Hồng Hà asked for new approaches in order to identify outstanding individuals and working models with practical and influencing contributions to the environmental protection and climate change response from all social spectra, including religious communities.
