The 13th national congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam opened in Hanoi on January to chart a new development course for Vietnam in the coming five years and beyond.

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc says officials and people pin their hopes on decisions to be endorsed by the congress to help Vietnam weather the storm and foster rapid and sustainable development
