
The Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) held on September 11 the 6th national conference for honoring examples of “good people, good deeds” in Catholic communities for 2020 - 2025.

The event saw the presence of Priest Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh, President of the CSVC, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nguyễn Hải Trung, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Hoài Bắc and about 300 delegates representing typical priests, clergies and Catholics amongst Catholic communities.

As reported at the congress, during the period 2020-2025, the campaign "All people unite to build new-style rural and civilized city, living good life – good religion," with eight contents launched by the Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics have achieved practical results.
Many exemplary models have sprouted up in production, economic development, poverty reduction, ensuring social security and safety, building new countryside, responding environmental protection and climate change adaption as well as conducting charitiable activities, etc.

Specifically, Catholics in Thanh Hoa and local people have voluntarily donated land to expand the rural roads. They have donated over 1,5 million m2 of land, demolished more than 2,400 fences, gates, yards, etc. with total value at 90 billion VND, contributed more than 640 billion VND and more than 590,000 working days to rebuild public works and new rural transportation system.
In addition, Catholic parishes of Tien Phuoc, Hoi An, Hoa Lam, Tra Kieu, Tam Ky in Da Nang city have contributed 1,2 billion VND, over 35,600 working days, donated 20,100 m of concrete roads and 8,500 m road, etc.

Addressing the event, President of the VFF Đỗ Văn Chiến highly appreciated practical contributions made by the Catholic communities to the society and the country over the past five years.

In the coming time, President of the VFF expressed his hope that, the Central CSVC and Catholic communities across the country would continue joining hands with the entire Party, people and armed forces to heighten awareness and make breakthroughs in the renewal of thinking, creativity and successfully implement the Party and State’s guidelines and policies and Resolutions of the 13th and the 14th National Party Congresses.
During the event, the Central VFF, the Central CSVC and other agencies praised and presented certificates of commendation to Catholic groups and Catholic individuals for their practical contributions and outstanding achievements during the 2020-2025 period.
