Nam Dinh province: Grand requiem held for predecessors, fallen solders

On Sept. 27, Thien Truong Truc Lam Buddhist Center in collaboration with the Central and Nam Dinh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held a grand ceremony to pray for predecessors and fallen solders’ spiritual uplifting and peace and prosperity in the country.

Attending the ceremony were Buddhist dignitaries from the VBS Discernment Council and Executive Council, Nam Dinh provincial VBS, and thousands of Buddhists, former solders and relatives of fallen solders of recent wars.

State officials at the event included General Minister of Public Security, Politburo Member Trần Đại Quang, Minister of Transport Đinh La Thăng, Director of Buddhist Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Hữu Dược, Secretary of Nam Dinh Party Committee Đoàn Hồng Phong.

The organization of the event showed the Vietnamese cultural tradition of gratitude to national predecessors, fallen solders who have sacrificed their life for the country’s independence.
