Nam Dinh authorities pay Vesak visits to Buddhist places

On occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2017, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Trần Văn Chung paid visits on May 8 to local Buddhist establishments in the province.

Chairman Trần Văn Chung visited and extended Vesak congratulation to Buddhists dignitaries and followers in An Lac and Hoanh Nha pagodas in the province’s Giao Thuy district. He also hailed practical contributions made by Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the province in social and charitable activities over the past time.

On the same day, Deputy Secretary cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phạm Đình Nghị met with Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Tâm Vượng in Co Le pagoda in Truc Ninh district and offered incense to Late Most Venerable Thích Thế Long, former Vice Chairman of  the National Assembly of Vietnam, and Late Most Venerable Thích Thế Thuận, former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Chapter in the province.

During the visiting reception with Most Venerable Thích Tâm Vượng, Chairman Phạm Đình Nghị extended best wishes to local Buddhist dignitaries and followers on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2017. He also called the Buddhist leader and local dignitaries to further encourage Buddhist followers to proactively take part in local movements for social-economic development in the locality.

Most Venerable Thích Tâm Vượng took the chance to thank local authorities for their due attention extended to Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the province and said to continue encouraging Buddhist dignitaries and followers to promote fine traditions of Vietnam Buddhism as well as actively join in local movements for the social-economic development in the locality.
