A delegation led by Chairwoman of Vietnam National Assembly (NA) Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân paid a visit to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on May 15 ahead of the Buddha’s Birthday 2019.
The NA Chairwoman accompanied by Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng was welcomed by Standing Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu.
During the visit, the NA leader took the chance to congratulate the VBS for successfully hosting the UN Day of Vesak 2019 in Ha Nam province from May 12-14.
She affirmed that the Un Day of Vesak 2019 is not only the success of the VBS but also a testimony of the state policy on belief and religion, and helps promoting Vietnam’s image and status in the world.
On occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday 2019, the Chairwoman extended best wishes to the VBS and expressed hope that the VBS would continue accompanying the nation and contributing to the social development in the country.

On the same day, NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân visited and met with Patriarch of the VBS Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ at Vien Minh pagoda located in Ha Noi city’s Phu Xuyen district on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday.
