My Tho Caritas provides medical support for poor patients in Tien Giang

A charity program offering free medical examination, medicines and relief packets to poor patients in Tien Giang province was held in My Tho Diocese’s Pastoral Centre in My Tho city on October 17-19.

The program was organized by My Tho Caritas in collaboration with Medical Aid for Vietnam from the U.S and Canada, and the Red Cross Association in Tien Giang province.

During the event, 1476 patients received services of general examination, eye examination and oral care. Each patient was also presented with a gift packet containing noodle and milk. Patients with serious illness have also been offered free medicines and treatment cost at hospital if it was recommended.

The total value of the charity program was estimated at about VND 350 million.
