On July 17, 2014, My Phuc chapter under the Vietnam Evangelical Church (Southern) held a solemn ceremony to inaugurate its new church at 11/10 Nguyen Van Nguyen street, ward 8, My Tho city, Tien Giang province.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Bùi Thị Mai, Vice-Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs; pastor Ngô Văn Bửu, former Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Evangelical Church, pastor Phan Quang Thiệu – General Secretary of the Vietnam Evangelical Church; representatives from local authorities; pastors, missionaries and 400 Protestants inside and outside of the chapter.
The church of My Phuc chapter was built in 1974 with fibro roofs. In 1993 the churh was rebuilt with the size 7mx12m. On March, 2014, the superintendent of the chapter started expanding the church with new size 7mx24m. Currently, the chapter receives certificates of land use right and right of ownership of housing and other assets attached to the and with an area of 220 m2, and its church has been recognized as a cultural worshipping place.
At the opening, pastor Phan Quang Thiệu prayed for the ceremony; pastor Nguyễn Văn Giô-na, Superintendent of My Phuc chapter delivered a welcome speech. The choir of My Phuc chapter sang a song to honor the God with the title “words to thank God”
Pastor Ngô Văn Bửu preached the word of God in the book of King I 8:27-30 with the title “residing place of God”. After that, pastor Trần Thanh Dũng chaired the inauguration ritual. On behalf of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Evangelical Church (Southern), pastor Phan Quang Thiệu received the dedication document of My Phuc chapter
