The representative committee of Islamic community in An Giang held on May 12 a ceremony to mark the start of Ramadan 2018 at Masjid Al-Ehsan mosque located in the province’s An Phu district.
The event also saw the attendance of Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Võ Anh Kiệt, representatives from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and a large number of Cham Muslims in the locality.
During the ceremony, while extending best wishes to the Cham Islamic community in the province on occasion of Ramadan, Deputy Secretary Võ Anh Kiệt spoke highly of practical contributions made by Cham Muslims in the locality. He also encouraged local Muslims to continue upholding fine traditions and making further contributions to socio-economic development in the locality.
