Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Standing Vice president of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Executive Council was one of ten individuals honored with the noble title "Excellent Citizen of the Capital" at a conference reviewing the 30-year movement “Good people, good deeds".
The event was organized by the Hanoi municipal authorities on October 10 as part of programs celebrating the 68th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2022).
The event saw the presence of Secretary of the municipal Party’s Committee Đinh Tiến Dũng, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Trần Sỹ Thanh, and Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Phạm Tất Thắng.
Earlier, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu was awarded several noble titles by the Party and the State including a Truong Sa Soldier Badge in 2010, a Third-class Independence Medal in 2011, a Medal of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization in 2015, a Second-class Independence Medal in 2017, Certificates of Recommendation by the Prime Minister in 2007, 2019, 2020, a Third-class Labor Medal in 2021, and Medal for the cause of protecting the sovereignty of sea and islands in 2022.
