Missionary Caodai Church celebrates 60th anniversary and holds 5th Humanity Congress

The Missionary Caodai Church solemnly celebrated its 60th founding anniversary and organized the 5th Humanity Congress for 2016-2020 tenure at a ceremony held on July 2-4 in Da Nang city.

The event saw participation of representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), Da Nang city’s authorities and over 850 delegates representing about 50,000 dignitaries, deacons and followers from 70 Caodai parishes and establishments under the Missionary Caodai Church across the country.

While congratulating the Missionary Caodai Church for its achievements through 60 years of development, Director of the GCRA’s Department of Caodai Affairs Nguyễn Đắc Tuấn praised the Church for its contributions of nearly VND 4 billion to social, charitable activities, and encouraged the Church to continue promoting religious traditions and actively participate in social activities in the localities, contributing to build the prosperous and civilized country of Vietnam.

On the occasion, Chairman of Da Nang city People’s Committee Huỳnh Đức Thơ presented a certificate of merit to the Missionary Caodai Church for its social and charitable contributions in the city.

The Missionary Caodai Church was established in 1956. Currently, the Church has nearly 50,000 followers with 70 Caodai oratories and worshipping establishments in 18 provinces and cities across the country. Quang Nam province and Da Nang city are the two localities having highest numbers of the Church’s followers.
