Minister of Home Affairs extends Christmas greetings to Nha Trang diocese

Minister of Home Affair Phạm Thị Thanh Trà paid on December 8 a visit to the Cathedral of Nha Trang diocese, ahead of Christmas 2021.  

The Home Affairs Minister accompanied by Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa provincial Party’s Committee Hà Quốc Trị and Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Ánh Chức was welcomed by Bishop Joseph Võ Đức Minh of Nha Trang.

During the visiting reception, Minister of Home Affairs Phạm Thị Thanh Trà informed the country’s socio-economic development in 2021 and the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Vietnam and in the world. She also spoke highly of practical contributions of Nha Trang diocese in encouraging its members to take part in social programs and movements, the Covid-19 prevention Covid-19 work and charitable activities support people affected by the pandemic.

The Minister called on the diocese Bishop and Catholic dignitaries and parishioners of the diocese to promote unity, proactively launch local patriotic movements, contributing to the development in the locality.

On the occasion of Christmas 2021, Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà extended merry Christmas to the bishop, priests and parishioners of Nha Trang diocese.

For his part, Bishop Joseph Võ Đức Minh took the chance to thank the Hoem Affairs leader and Khanh Hoa provincial government for their due attention extended to Catholic practices in the diocese, especially during the complicated context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He affirmed that he would continue encouraging priests and Catholics to stay united and join hands with local authorities and people for socio –economic development in the locality.
