Minister of Home Affair Phạm Thị Thanh Trà visited on December 21 the Office of Hai Phong diocese and met with Bishop Vincent Nguyễn Văn Bản of the diocese cum Apostolic Administrator of Buon Ma Thuot diocese, ahead of Christmas 2022.

Accompany with the Home Affairs Minister included Chief of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ office Vũ Đăng Minh, Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga, Director of the Catholic Affairs Department under the GCRA Đinh Quang Tiến and Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Tùng.
At the visiting reception
During the visiting reception, while extending merry Christmas and happy New Year to the bishop, priests and parishioners of Hai Phong diocese, Minister of Home Affairs Phạm Thị Thanh Trà informed the host about the country’s socio-economic development in 2022. She also spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Catholic community in the country in general and Catholic people in Hai Phong city in particular.
The Minister called on the diocese Bishop and Catholic dignitaries and parishioners of the diocese to closely accompany with the nation as well as proactively participate in patriotic movements lauched for socio-economic development in the locality.
For his part, Bishop Vincent Nguyễn Văn Bản took the chance to thank the home affairs leader and Hai Phong city government for their visit and expressed hope that leaders of home affairs ministry and the city authorities would continue creating favorable conditions for Catholic practices in the diocese.
