Master plan for preserving Keo pagoda approved

The master plan for Keo pagoda, a special national relic located in Thai Binh province’s Vu Thu district, has been approved by the Prime Minister.

According to the plan, the relic site will be planned on the total area of 13.5 ha including two passages of architectural relics covering 4.18 ha and the land expanded to the east and northeast of the relic which is located in Vu Thu district’s communes of Duy Nhat and Vu Tien, with the planned area of 9.32 ha.

The plan also sets out requirements of assessing current status of the relic site, a technical survey for identifying characteristics and typical values of the relic (including the study of intangible cultural heritages associated with Keo Pagoda), as well as the role of the relic in regional relations.

The Prime Minister assigned Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee to host and co-ordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant ministries and agencies to set up and submit the overall planning for preserving, restoring and promoting the special national relic Keo Pagoda, as well as to arrange capital sources, approve cost estimates and perform other works relating the overall planning.
