Mass Mobilization Commission leader chairs meeting on ethnic, religious affairs in Bac Kan

During a working trip to Bac Kan province, Politburo Member cum Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Trương Thị Mai had on August 2 a working meeting with Bac Kan provincial authorities on ethnic and religious affairs in the locality.

Addressing the meeting, Mrs. Trương Thị Mai, who is also a member of the Party Central Committee, spoke highly of results achieved in ethnic and religious affairs in the province.

She also reminded the provincial government of due attention be paid to the material and spiritual life of ethnic and religious communities, as well as asked the local authorities to timely solve practical issues relating to religion, contributing to ensure stably and sustainable development in the locality.

Earlier, the Politburo member attended a launching ceremony of the program 'One Million Green Trees for Vietnam' which was co-organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), the Bac Kan provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk).

Bac Kan province is currently home to three religions of Buddhism, Catholism and Protestantism with over 17,000 religious followers.
