A mass for celebrating Saint Martino was held on November 3 by Martino Catholic Community under Ban Me Thuot diocese’s Hoa Nam parish.
The mass taking place in E Anuol commune of Dak Lak province’s Buon Don district saw the presence of Sister Maria Vũ Thị Ngọc Lan, Superior General of the Rosa Lima Dominican Congregation, Knight of the Grand Cross John Baptist Lê Đức Thịnh, sponsors and a large number of local Catholics from the Ede ethnic group.
The event featured traditional rites, Gospel preaching read in Ede and Kinh languages and hymns sung in Ede language in harmony with the typical gongs of the Central Highlands.
The Catholic Community currently having 1,800 parishioners from the Ede ethnic group in villages of Ky, Nieng 1, 2, 3, Kdung, M’Thar is headed by Priest Pierre Nguyễn Văn Phương of the Dominican Congregation.
In 2020, with the permission of local authorities, Priest Pierre Nguyễn Văn Phương temporarily borrowed Mr. A Ma Chung's house in Nieng village for religious practices and Sunday mass of the Catholic Community.
