Many pagoda in the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh lit up candles in June 2 to pray for students in the upcoming high-school graduating exam 2018.
The candle-light ceremonies in Diec and Ha pagodas in Nghe An and Van Phuc pagoda in Ha Tinh have attracted flocks of students, their parents and volunteers to pray for successful results in the upcoming national high school graduating exam.
In addition to lightening candles, Buddhist dignitaries at the pagodas performed Buddhist rituals aimed to help students maintain peace of mind and take the upcoming exam at ease. The students were also presented with lucky Buddhist strings of beads from the pagodas.

According to Venerable Thích Đồng Tuệ, head of Buddhist rites board in Nghe An cum Abbot of Ha pagoda, this is an annual event at the pagoda which he often take the opportunity to encourages students to take deeps breaths before doing the exam questions and share with students good experiences and skills in taking exams.
Also in Nghe An province, Duc Hau pagoda located in Vinh provincial city and Hong Phuc pagoda in Nghi Loc district have organized similar events for students before their graduating exam taking place.
