Bac Ninh province’s Tien Du district held Lim festival on February 19 and 20 on Lim Hill (Hong Van mountain) – the worshiping place of Hieu Trung Hau, founder of Quan Ho (love duet) singing.
The festival is held annually from 12th to 14th of the 1st lunar month, often attracts thousands of visitors every year and becomes a special feature of the festive season in Bac Ninh province.
Visitors to the festival could not only visit Lim pagoda to pray for peace and health for their new year but also enjoy charming and beautiful melodies of “Quan Ho” singing, which was inscribed in UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage of humanity list in 2009.
This year the festival took place with ceremonial processions, religious rituals for worshipping to the village tutelages and national heroes in the temple of Co Lung and Hong Van tomb on February 20. After that visitors enjoyed performance arts, Quan Ho singing and folk games, etc.
