A high-ranking delegation of the Laos Front for National Construction led by Vice President Chanthavong Sene Amatmontry began its working visit to Vietnam on August 22.
Working meeting with Government Religious Committee
The Laos delegation had a working meeting with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) on August 23, where the two sides exchanged on the religious life and the State administration on religion in each country, as well as reviewed implementing results of the cooperation agreement between the two sides signed for the 2014-2020 period.
During the meeting, Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà kindly requested the Laos Front for National Construction to facilitate religious practices by Vietnamese community in Laos.
On the same day, Laos delegation paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hoà Bình, whom affirmed during the welcoming reception that the cooperation between the two state agencies on religious affairs brought practical results, contributing to promote the bilateral friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and people of Vietnam and Laos. Vice President Chanthavong Sene Amatmontry took the chance to express hope that Vietnam will support the organization of a Vietnam-Lao-Cambodia Buddhist conference and the upcoming conference on the state administration on religion of six lower Mekong River countries.

In Hanoi, the delegation visited and exchanged with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council on Buddhist practices in the two countries.
In addition to activities in Hanoi, the Laos delegation will visit Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to learn about the religious life and the implementation of state policies and laws on religion in these localities.
