Lam Dong provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held on August 2 a meeting with dignitaries and representatives from recognized Protestant sects in the locality.
Attending the meeting included Chairwoman of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyễn Thị Lệ, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Đường Anh Ngữ and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Ngô Văn Đức, and dignitaries and representatives from the recognized Protestant denominations.
During the event, Protestant dignitaries shared results of religious activities and practical issues in the first six months of 2016, and put forward recommendations to local authorities.
During the meeting, the local authorities discussed with Protestant dignitaries remaining issues regarding to Protestant practices in locality and urged Protestant sects to encourage followers to practice the religion in accordance with the law, preserve the cultural identities, strengthen the organizational structure for ensuring stability in religious practices.
On occasion of the 61st founding anniversary of State sector on religious affairs, Protestant dignitaries also extended best wishes to leaders and officials of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and took the chance to thank local authorities for favorable conditions extended to the Protestant sects over the past years.
