A general council of Préh Ryông Congregation under the General Confederation of Evangelical Churches of Vietnam (ECVN) (Southern) was held on July 27 in Duc Trong district in Lam Dong province.
The council was attended by Protestant dignitaries of the ECVN (Southern) and Lam Dong provincial Protestant Representative Committee, representatives of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, and over 1,300 dignitaries, deacons and followers in the locality.
Préh Ryông Congregation in Phu Hoi commune, Duc Trong district was established in 1958 by clergyman Geogre Irwin, his wife, and several local evangelists with 20 followers. The Congregation was registered in 2005 and it now has 350 followers, mainly Chu Ru ethnic people.
