On February 19, 2014, Hoa Phat chapter of Bao Loc parish (in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong held a ceremony to inaugurate its new church with the title “The Assumption of Mary”. Attending the ceremony were Bishop Antoine Vũ Huy Chương of Da Lat Diocese, Archbishop Pierre Nguyễn Văn Nhơn of Hanoi archdiocese as well as dignitaries, sub-dignitaries and believers.
Hoa Phat parish was established on June 3, 1973 and its church and rectory was built in 1977. Many years elapsed, the old church was too small and degraded while the number of believers increased. On June 11, 2009, the parish held a ceremony and stone-placing rituals to start the construction of a new church. The work, designed by Architect Paulo Vương Đình Thanh and his daughter Teresa Vương Ngân Hà, includes a church, a teaching house, a rectory, a campus and statutes.
